Jean Sibelius's wedding march for Adolf Paul's play The Language of the Birds is played only seldom, at weddings or otherwise. "It is not without poetry," Sibelius wrote in his diary. Parts of the march, which proceeds in a somewhat lurching, unsteady fashion, have a jocular tone.
